ABSTRACT
This thesis entitled “Student Perceptions’ on The Use of Caricature in Improving English Writing Ability”. The aim of this study is to investigate the students perception about the use of caricature in learning writing in the second year students of SMA AL-MANAR. To achieve the goal of this study, the writer have conducted field research at SMA AL-MANAR Boarding School. To gain the data needed, the writer did experimental teaching that distributed questionnare. The population of this research was the whole of second year students of SMA AL-MANAR Boarding School which consist 20 students. The result of questionnare, there were four perceptions of using caricature. First of all, the students were motivated by caricature, then caricature stimulated in generating ideas. The third, caricature was enjoyable, the last one caricature was entertaing.
