TEACHING VOCABULARY BY USING FABLE TEXT TO THE FIRST YEARS STUDENT OF MTsN TAPAKTUAN



ABSTRACT

This thesis entitled “Teaching Vocabulary by Using Fable Text to The First Years Students of MTsN Tapaktuan”. Vocabulary crucially becomes one of the important part in English which have to be mastered. Without mastering much vocabulary, the students faced the obstacle in the school. The aims of this research is to know whether using fable text can increased students ability in the vocabulary to the first year students of MTsN Tapaktuan. The population of this research was all of the students of MTsN Tapaktuan. While, the sample is 25 students of class VII-3 as experimental class and 25 students of class VII-2 as control class. The sample was selected by using purposive sampling. The techniques of collecting data used in this research are experimental teaching and test. The experimental teaching was conducted for two meetings. Based on the result of the data analysis, fable text increased students ability in vocabulary to the first year students of MTsN Tapaktun. It can be seen from the result of pre-test and post-test score between experimental class and control class. The result of the test (see in chapter four, page 25 - 43) shows the mean of pre-test score 68.8 and 82.4 in post-test of experimental. Meanwhile, control class get score 68.32 In pre test and 76.24 In post-test. It shows that there was significant difference between both class.
